Round Tables
There are two basic ways to make a round table larger - to go from round to racetrack shaped (roughly an oval) or to go from round to a bigger round. There are pros and cons to each method, but the decision is usually dictated by the shape and size of the room more than anything else.
Round tables that become ovals:
A closed Round Table.
A Round Table, open with no leaves.
A Round Table with the leaves inserted.
A Round Table with the mechanism visible.
Round tables that become bigger round tables (Circumferential Leaves):
A Round Table with no leaves installed.
The same table with a ring of 9" leaves attached. The diameter of the table increased by 18" turning a 54" table that seats 6 - 8 into a 72" table that seats 8 - 10. One disadvantage is that this leaf mechanism is all or nothing - you lose some flexibility that you have with the other style of round table. On the other hand, it's beautiful and very unique.
