Each piece is built by a single craftsman who takes the job from start to finish. We don't compromise on construction methods; with proper care, our work will last forever. We deliver the pieces to your home.

Everything should be this simple! What makes this possible is the skill of the cabinetmakers, and the quality of the designs. As you look through this website you will see hundreds of different pieces, each a solution to a client's needs. Every piece shown can be modified to suit your situation. We have completed hundreds of commissions and made thousands of pieces of furniture, but we still believe that the best furniture is made by a cabinetmaker at a bench. And a little history: Paul Downs started making furniture in 1986, in a small shop in Manayunk. Over the years we have outgrown 4 other shops and we now operate a 33,000 square foot shop in Bridgeport, PA. Half of our work is residential and the other half is office furniture. We specialize in dining furniture, large conference tables and custom offices.
